The Betteleiche (Begging Oak) is a pedunculate oak and a habitat for various bird, bat, and insect species. With a circumference of 5.30 meters and a diameter at breast height of 1.69 meters, it is the largest oak in the Ludwigsburg district. Its age is estimated at just over 200 years. It has been designated a natural monument since 1988. The name "Betteleiche" (Begging Oak) derives from the traveling people who often camped at this corner of the forest because they were denied access to neighboring Heimerdingen.
