The Voorstraat in Voorschoten is part of an old transport connection between The Hague via Voorburg to Leiden. Here lies an old beach ridge. The annual horse market goes back to a market right granted by Count Floris V.

Hiking

The Voorstraat is the oldest part of Voorschoten. There is a nice market every Friday. There is also a horse market every year in July. Along this street (once called 'Heerenstraat') there are several monumental houses and a former post office. The centuries-old Dutch lime trees give an extra atmosphere to the Voorstraat.
