Simar Nature Reserve is an oasis in the middle of a valley with an agricultural landscape. The reserve takes its name from the sharp rushes (Is-Simar in Maltese) that regenerate throughout the reserve. Wetlands provide a safe haven for both resident and migratory birds. The reserve is open from September to May. During the week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 14:00 to 19:00. On weekends on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the reserve is free, but donations are welcome. In the reserve you can meet not only birds but also chameleons and geckos.
