The watermill in Lengenfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1438, and the current buildings were built in 1853. At that time it was still called Hoyersmühle, it was sold to the Klopfer miller family in 1863 and is still owned by the family today.
Until 1968, the mill was driven by two overshot water wheels, and an electric motor was also used since 1920.
A Franzis turbine then replaced the dilapidated water wheels, and the mill technology was also continually renewed.
The Klopfer Mill has been a listed building since 1988.
