The Pollare weir is very outdated. She still works with shot beams; an outdated system in which wooden beams are lifted in and out of the current with a tackle. The bulkhead beams are replaced by thrust valves. These can be operated automatically and provide more precise, safer operation.

The adjustments to the weir, the construction of the technical building and the construction of a fish passage were scheduled for 2023. Two years later, the new weir will be operational.
At the beginning of 2024, it looks like the works have not yet started.
