The fuel depot presented here is located near Česká Kamenice (Bohemian Kamnitz) in the “Rabštejnské údolí” (Rabstein Valley).
At the end of the 1950s it was built by the Czechoslovak army in the unfinished underground production tunnel of a German Reich armaments factory. In 1968 it was taken over by the "Central Group of Troops" (the Soviet/Russian armed forces in the former CSSR) and operated until the early 1990s. The tunnel system housed 12 huge tanks in which around 7.5 million liters of fuel were stored.
