Tips
The gallows square, which served as an execution site, is really the only thing that still bears witness to the former rulers. The lords of Herdersem lived in the later destroyed castle Ter Bruggen. This castle was located a little further on, in the bend of the Hof ter Hammestraat. It was connected to the old church by a lane, but was destroyed by the French in 1667.
