On the cliff of La Luz, visible from the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma, stands like a defensive watchtower the hermitage dedicated to the Dominican San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora de La Luz. As protectors of sailors, both titles played an essential role in the religious history of the district, originally inhabited by sailors, pilots of the Indian race, fishermen and shipowners.

The Ermita de la Luz, dedicated to the protectors of sailors San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora de la Luz, was built on the cliffs of La Luz.
The chapel has two entrances, following the model of the island's chapels, on the side and at the chancel portal. The façade features various maritime elements and the baroque main altarpiece stands out inside.
