The life-size bronze figure of the pilgrim James has stood on the open-air square since 2007 - as a walking figure on the way to Santiago de Compostela. The figure was donated to the city of Neuss by the Neusser Scheibenschützen-Gesellschaft. It was designed by the Düsseldorf artist Bert Gerresheim.
