The Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell Memorial honors the park's creator and the founder of landscape gardening in Germany. It was erected in 1824, shortly after his death, on a promontory on Lake Kleinhesseloher. The Corinthian column with neoclassical figures, designed by Leo von Klenze, symbolizes Sckell's contributions to garden design. The memorial is a peaceful place of remembrance, harmoniously embedded in nature and clearly visible from the nearby Seehaus beer garden.

In 1824, one year after his death, a monument was erected in honor of Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell, the main designer of the English Garden, in the form of a column crowned with a pine cone. There are several inscriptions on the base:
"To the thoughtful master of beautiful garden art, who crowned his full service to the earth's purest enjoyment with these facilities..."
        and
"You too, pleasure-seeker, honor the memory of the Biedermann."
That is why the monument is also popularly known as "Biedermann".
