The Mathildenbrunnen got its name after the wife of King Heinrich I. The widow Kings Mathilde had the son of Heinrich I and thus Otto I's successor to the throne confirm the founding of a women's foundation. For 30 years she was on the board of this women's foundation on the Quedlinburger Schlossberg. She had never been an abbess.
The historic Mathildenbrunnen Quedlinburg invites you to linger and relax in the middle of the old town. Life pulsates around him. Guests of the idyllic Harz city can see many historical buildings and restaurants in the Mathildenbrunnen pedestrian zone. In addition, visitors to the old town have the opportunity to shop conveniently close to the Mathildenbrunnen.
