Georgenberg takes its name from Saint George, the patron saint of the former monastery on the mountain. This monastery existed until the mid-16th century. Saint George was widely known as a dragon slayer and fought a 🐉 dragon here. Since then, the defeated dragon has been forced to heat the water in the hole as punishment, thus supplying the thermal baths with hot water 😉🤣.

Henneberger Warte. Observation tower with 130 steps leading to the viewing platform. The view is clear in all directions, not overgrown with trees, which is often the case. There is a beer garden directly opposite, or a restaurant in winter, so it is definitely worth a visit.
