'Gunung Kie Matubu' (1,750 m) is the volcano of Tidore and is located in the volcanic chain off the west coast of Halmahera.
Kie Matubu is depicted on the former Indonesian 1000 Rp banknote. The volcano has a beautiful symmetrical cone shape, especially when viewed from the island of Ternate.
