Savignyplatz was laid out in 1894/95 as a green, ornamental square to break up the dense development surrounding it. In 1926/27, it received its distinctive design from the landscape architect Erwin Barth, which was restored in 1987 for Berlin's city anniversary. In the northern part of the square stand two opposing bronze sculptures, "Boy with Goat," by August Kraus, emphasizing the symmetrical layout of the square along Kantstraße.

Today, the square is a pleasant meeting place with cafés, bookstores, and galleries. You can relax among the flowerbeds and seating areas and watch the hustle and bustle on Kantstraße.

The station Savignyplatz is located on the light rail in the Berlin district Charlottenburg. He is the youngest station of the Berlin light rail. The central platform under a saddle roof on cast-iron pillars and the open entrance hall are listed buildings. The station is currently served by the S-Bahn with the lines S3, S5, S7 and S9. It has two entrances, one from a pedestrian zone from Savignyplatz via the Else-Ury-Bogen and a second from Schlüterstraße.
