Lech Dam 23, also known as Mandichosee, is an important dam on the Lech between Landsberg am Lech and Augsburg. It was put into operation in 1979 and serves both to generate energy through hydropower and as a popular local recreation area. The reservoir covers an area of around 160 hectares and is located in the municipality of Merching in the Aichach-Friedberg district.

Technical details:

• Dam: The dam consists of a gravity dam with a weir, combined with an earth dam.

• Hydroelectric power plant: The associated run-of-river power plant uses the energy of the Lech to generate electricity.
