Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)
The Lochbach - formerly known as Welllech - is discharged from the Lechstaustufe 22, at the so-called Lochbachanstich.
Along the stream leads a very beautiful, mostly shady hiking and biking trail, which on weekends hundreds of cyclists and joggers use. The path leads u. a. at the old water guard hut on Lochbach (old incision) over, what many do not suspect is that they drive past a beautifully landscaped Alpine garden. Here it is worthwhile to take a break. After the Schutz- und Wachhütte had "worn out" years ago and "slumbered" to itself, the nature conservation officer of the Königsbrunner Wasserwacht, Frank Böttger, created a thoroughly interesting biotope in the vicinity of the former water watch station. There are many alpine plants, which also occur mostly by alluvial deposits in the Lechauen, to admire. But also many reptiles or microorganisms can be seen. The complex is almost a nature trail.Source and further information: myheimat.de/koenigsbrunn/natur/fuer-naturfreunde-alpengarten-am-alten-lochbachanstich-bei-augsburgkoenigsbrunn-d119923.html
