The BRIDGE GUARD'S HOUSE, part of the Leuvebrug complex, was built in 1937 on behalf of the Dordrecht Municipal Works Department. The design was by the Dordrecht architect A.J. Argelo, in a traditionalist style related to the Delft School. The bridge keeper's house was originally built with its back against the block of houses on Prinsenstraat. The house is located on the southwest side of the bridge, along the Leuvehaven, within the protected cityscape of Dordrecht.
