The Church of Our Lady (Grote Kerk) is built in the Brabantine Gothic style and is the city's largest church. It is known, among other things, for its heavy, unfinished tower, which stands slightly crooked due to the soft ground.
The church was originally built as a Catholic church and after the Reformation in 1572 was taken over by the Protestant Church in the Netherlands.
