She was the friend of the Count, who paid for her political influence with her death. She was murdered in 1392 along with Willem Cuser, the count's squire. The count reacted angrily, the perpetrators had to leave the country, their houses were demolished and a single perpetrator was caught and killed. But the story didn't end there, because many years later a very special reconciliation took place in the Grote Kerk in The Hague. The murder story still leaves a big impression. Not long ago, on September 22, 1992, a memorial stone to the murder was unveiled at the site with much-needed publicity. The murder is said to have taken place at this location six hundred years ago.
