The Scheveningen Pier is a pier in the North Sea near Scheveningen. The building, which opened in 1961 and replaced the old pier from 1901, serves as a catering, shopping and entertainment complex.

London has its Eye, Singapore has its Flyer, and now Scheveningen is following suit: since August 2016 there has been a permanently installed Ferris wheel on the pier, which will remain there permanently. At a height of 40 meters, the "SkyView Pier" allows visitors a unique view over the sea, the beach, the Kurhaus and The Hague. There is space for six people in each of the 36 closed and air-conditioned gondolas.

For 9 euros you can do about 5-6 laps on the Ferris wheel. I think the view from above is very nice. At 8 p.m. the place is closed. This means that in late autumn you might be able to watch the sunset from above.
