Day 5:

Venlo to Emmerich. A bit of bad luck with the weather, but visited nice spots. The route is mostly easy to ride. The one ferry I used was cheap at under €1.50 p.p. and bike.

Day 4:

From Stein to Venlo.

Under 80 KM.

Under 200 HM.

Tailwind.

At first, I wasn't sure if the tour came from my "pen", until I could remember it again 😉

I was particularly looking forward to the tour and thought it would be a really relaxed tour. Then came the first thunderstorm warning for the afternoon

Day 3:

Forgive me for the multiple photos of Stolberg Castle. I didn't know the castle before and was truly love at first sight.

The castle at the beginning was not the sole highlight. Maastricht was also beautiful. I still rode through the city, which was planned, and still had the feeling of having missed

Day 2:

I approached this tour with great respect. Thus with much humility and simply mile after mile.

I knew that I would almost always have a headwind.

Really bad was therefore only the first ascent up to KM 25 where the wind was almost always present and the ascent was constant.

But nevertheless it was

Day 1:

The muscles say it was (surprisingly) strenuous. Since I rode the Rhine Cycle Route in the opposite direction a few days ago, I didn't take many photos from Cologne to Bonn today. I wanted to include the spot that goes from the Rhine towards Aachen. However, it's not explicitly named as on Komoot

Directly from the Borkum tour, we then continued to the Netherlands to meet with colleagues. Hardenberg was really nice and my day's highlight. Otherwise, there was a lot of landscape and wind 😄

The latter luckily remained bearable.

Great tour, changed at very short notice.

It was planned to take the ferry from Borkum to Eemshaven on Sunday around 8:30 AM. A good idea actually and feasible with the summer schedule - except on Sundays. On Sundays, the ferry to Eemshaven only departs around noon. So, to Emden after all.

The ferry, however

Few photos, but everyone has already taken them all on this route 😉

Greatest weather with a bright blue sky 😍

Day 11:

You can't go wrong along the Rhine, at most you might have bad luck with the wind.

Some say it's better on the left bank of the Rhine because no trains run there, but I find the right bank just as beautiful.

Day 9:

What can I say about this tour?

In Erbach, I was once annoyed by a bridge closure (see photo - you can't go there 😂) and while bypassing this closure, I ran into a huge construction site. It was only passable because it was Pentecost. So, it's better to bypass the area if possible. It doesn't look

Day 8:

Relatively simply described. The Mainradweg is beautiful. You can't really go wrong with the condition of the path. Only a section behind Aschaffenburg (direction Frankfurt) was gravel. Otherwise, it was always asphalted.

I was on the left side of the Main for most of the route. And as I said, the

Day 7:

The Neckar cycle path near Heilbronn is simply beautiful. Then it merges into the RS 3, which is a really strong cycle superhighway that I definitely want to ride again.

The path itself is simply phenomenal, as is the landscape in that area. I had to leave the RS 3 (unfortunately, unfortunately

First of all - I think the 250 meters of altitude shown is too little.

Otherwise, a great tour on the first real sunny day. In Baden-Württemberg, more love ($) has been put into the cycle paths. I don't remember any section here that wasn't asphalted.

The path along the Neckar is mostly picturesquely

Actually - with the prologue - already day 6 and thus half is done. Goes so fast. Today initially along the Blau. Clearly more picturesque and beautiful than the Danube. Then it went "through the hinterland" and from there through a forest area and past the Sontheimer Höhle. However, I didn't look
