Since 1996, the town hall in Gengenbach in the Black Forest has proven to be a magical attraction during Advent: with its 24 windows, it is transformed into the world's largest Advent calendar house for great art.

World-famous artists such as Marc Chagall and Andy Warhol transformed the town hall into a unique winter fairy tale with their works. This year, paradisiacal images will be presented by one of the most renowned German illustrators of today: Olaf Hajek. He will enchant visitors with his inimitable, award-winning style.

The window opening ritual begins at 6 p.m. every evening. An overwhelming spectacle until the last of the 24 windows is opened and the town hall shines in all its splendor.

The supporting program on the stage in front of the town hall begins daily from 5 p.m. and on weekends from 3 p.m.

The Gengenbach Advent market also invites you to linger. This starts on November 30th and is open daily until December 23rd, 2023.

Window opens daily at 6 p.m.

The Advent calendar can be admired until January 7th, 2024.
