    Hiking

On February 26, 1712 received the Pottaschbrenner Andreas Schmitt from Otterberg by the spiritual goods management from the possession of the Cistercian Otterberg as a temporary stock for 20 years 105 acres of land on Grafenthal, on which he was allowed to build a yard with a barn and stables. Before, there was probably already a small Pottaschhütte stood there. From 1733 a brisk change of ownership took place, and it was built about 100 meters against Otterberg to yet a second courtyard. Today, there is nothing left of the buildings.

The knight's stone, which is maintained by the Palatinate Forest Association, points to a former Pottasch hut, a hundred meters further on the Grafenthaler Hof was built in 1712. A constant change of ownership followed. As so often, the Bavarian state bought and the farm was demolished. A forester's house was built with the stones because it was demolished in 1977.

The knight's stone indicates that there used to be a farm here (1712 - 1845). The Grafenthaler Brunnen was one of them. Source: Information board at the Grafenthaler Brunnen.
