    Wall building * Puschkinstraße 14

    The rampart was first mentioned in a document in 1310, at that time a fortification consisting of a rampart and a water-bearing ditch.

    In 1386 "dat slotto perleberghe" became the property of the city, which had a building that had been erected on the wall in the meantime prepared for representative living purposes and as a guest house for the Brandenburg Margrave. It is also used as a prison, armory and accommodation for guards handed down.

    In the 17th century the building complex was privately owned by the von Winterfeld family. The so-called "wall building" was built in its current form by the 18th century and was used for residential purposes.

    At the beginning of the 20th century it was partly used as a fire station. The plaque with a fireman commemorates the fallen comrades in the First World War.

    In 1997 the renovation began with private investments from the new owner, supported by subsidies. The building complex now houses the city library, the district media center, a restaurant and a modern exhibition and event hall.

      wall building

      The “Wall in Perleberg” was first mentioned in a document in 1310 and in 1317 the Brandenburg Margrave Waldemar gave it to the city.

      In 1368, “Perleberg Castle” stands on swampy terrain and is surrounded by water on all sides. The four-winged building, grouped around a courtyard, serves as a guard accommodation, armory, prison and probably also as a guest house for the Margraves of Brandenburg.

      1542 attested as belonging to the von Winterfeld family;

      Coat of arms from 1604 next to the gate.

      From the 16th to the 18th century the rampart building is created in its current form.

      In the 20th century etc. used as a fire station and residential building. Between the rampart building and the nearby river Stepenitz stands the last watchtower of the almost completely demolished ring of city walls.

        You should also take a look at the very beautiful inner courtyard.
