The cross (one of four) is the result of the “Joint Task to Improve Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection (GAK)” project, funded by the federal government and the state of Hesse, through which Schaafheim craft companies received orders during the economic slump as a result of Corona in 2020.
Looking past the cross into the field, you see a well between two trees. The legend tells of a very old well. It is more likely that this was dug after World War II. At that time there were cattle pastures there. The fountain was on a path to the watchtower that no longer exists today. The fields were still small; it was only through land consolidation that today's large areas were created.
