      Brother Michel

Once ’lives in the middle of this valley,
      in quiet seclusion.
A pious Klausner in a poor hut,
His life entirely dedicated to the Lord.
And resounded in the nearby city
The bells once in the dead of night.
That they echoed in the mountains
And everything wakes up from sleep.
One pushes oneself to the market in the storm,
One hurries to the bell tower.
And everyone calls out with screams of fear
Where then is the fire, the fire.
      And the bells keep ringing.
      Everyone looks, deeply shocked
And silently and seriously to each other.
The miracle no one can interpret.
"It's valid for the Klausner!" - From all sides
Echo that word like a bolt of lightning.
"Do you hear the angels themselves ringing for him!"
And everything flows out into the valley.
Here lay the old man - he has finished.
The eyes were turned to the sky.
And his hands, rigid and cold.
      They were folded in prayer.
And everyone filled with a holy shiver,
And for a long time you didn't hear a word.
Then they wore in silent sorrow
The corpse out of the valley.
And lowered d 'on the dear dead
Into the grave on consecrated ground.
That he should rest in peace
      As surely willed by God!

        The brother Michel part-1

In the secluded valley, not far from the small town of Boppard on the Rhine, a godly hermit once lived in his hermitage, who year in and year out never tired of tinkering with all kinds of herbs and roots. He knew better than anyone else how to use their natural healing properties to benefit the largely needy population, regardless of whether he was mixing a potion for an encrusted rash or a herb for a painfully rebellious stomach - the plight of the ailing person seeking help quickly came to an end. Even the animals of the forest gathered peacefully in snowy winters in the hermit's garden, who had a handful of hay or a crust of dry bread ready for each animal. All those who wandered through the valley to the Klausner with physical ailments or hearts in need of consolation always met a helpful and helpless wise old man, often deeply absorbed by pious books and writings or working in his herb garden.
