Interesting and historical place in the middle of the forest.

The Olgahain with the many steps was created in honor of Queen Olga (1822-1892) of Württemberg in the middle of the 19th century and opened to the public in 1977.

The Olgahain is a romantic wooded area that was developed with a network of paths around 1870 under King Karl of Württemberg and named after his Russian wife, Olga. The couple frequently stayed at Bebenhausen Palace, from where the grove is easily accessible for walks. It is a hillside with rocks and undulations formed by unstable marl soil. These depressions created various hollows and small wetlands with flowering woodland plants. It is also assumed that small ponds formed in former clay pits. The larger pond ("Olgasee"), partly surrounded by reeds, was probably enlarged at that time; it is already shown on the 1898 map. However, it has become overgrown in recent years. The grove is crisscrossed by several paths, some with steps and a few benches, but is otherwise left in its natural state. - Soon after the reign of this royal couple at the end of the 19th century, the small forest park was neglected and almost forgotten, until the paths in this area could be largely restored in 1977 as part of the creation of the educational trail.
