The refuge is like on an island between the Havel and the Elbe. Before the calm Havel flows into the stormy Elbe, it initially runs parallel to the larger river from Havelberg. This creates long islands where you can completely immerse yourself in nature. There is a special atmosphere here when dusk falls and the refuge is the ideal place to spend the night between the rivers.
