Tips
The city wall of Amberg was around 3 km long. In front of it was a ditch and a second, lower defensive wall to create a kennel area. This structural concept made Amberg one of the most fortified cities of the Middle Ages.
Larger parts of the city wall, especially in the northern part of the old town, have been preserved to this day and some have also been built over.translated by
