The Red Barracks is an old soldiers' barracks in the Upper Swabian town of Memmingen in Bavaria.
The Red Barracks stands between the Soldiers' Tower and the Lindau Gate.
The building is a two-story half-timbered structure. The second floor is accessed via a wooden, arbor-shaped external staircase. The Soldiers' Tower is on the left side. The city wall serves as the rear wall.
The Bavarian Elector Maximilian II had the Red Barracks built in 1702 for the soldiers stationed in Memmingen on the western city wall after he had taken the city after a siege. The Black Barracks, which was built at the same time, burned down in 1898. However, Memmingen soon became a Free Imperial City again, which made the barracks superfluous. Since then, the Red Barracks have housed apartments.
