Hidden by branches and overgrown with foliage, a small old cemetery in the Wisselsheim district of Bad Nauheim slumbered in the forest. It was only by chance that this small area in the forest was rediscovered.
Three gravestones can be found there, the names of those buried are Dahmen and Pfeil.

It was not clear at first glance how many people were buried there. It was initially assumed that there were six graves. But only three gravestones can be seen today. You can also see a border on one of the graves.

Theodore (1862 - 1933) and Augusta Dahmen (1860 - 1934) are buried here. There used to be an urn on Theodor's gravestone, as you can still see from a round outline and an anchor. It was probably removed a long time ago.

On a third gravestone you can read β€œMartin Pfeil’s bones rest here.” Martin was born in 1826, died in 1898 and, according to a Wisselsheim chronicle, was the first arrow in Wisselsheim.
Augusta was one of his two children, she died of heart failure. Theodor Dahmen was her husband.
According to Karin Hertkorn, the author who wrote a chronicle about Wisselsheim in 1997, Theodor Dahmen came from Bavaria and was administrator of the royal Eifel domain of Bulgenbach, Montjoie (Monschau) and Malmedy district. He died in Friedberg Hospital of appendicitis and pneumonia.

Furthermore, there is also a large boulder in the small cemetery, albeit without writing, and possibly another border.

The current owner of this property knew nothing about this small forgotten cemetery.

The area to which this small cemetery once belonged was sold piecemeal over time. The current owner, who inherited the forest, knew nothing about the small cemetery.

After the rediscovery of this place, the city's health and service department provided a container for foliage to a few volunteers from RΓΆdgen and Wisselsheim, who then set about clearing the area and the memorial stones.
