The castle of the Lords of Eppstein was once a Courmainician fief and was sold to Darmstadt in 1806. A planned conversion did not take place anymore, so the partial demolition left a torso castle with donjon. On the grounds you can still see the Marstall, an old well and parts of the fortification wall. The castle houses a small museum. A very nice place for a break, cafe and restaurants are not far.
