The chamber gardens, which are among the oldest parts of Schönbrunn and are located directly next to the palace, were already a popular retreat from the leaden heaviness of court ceremonial in the Baroque period. What is striking about these particularly lavishly designed private gardens with their intimate flower parterres, hidden hedge gardens, airy pavilions and shady walkways is their sophisticated detail, which makes them look like Baroque miniatures.

If you don't want to pay the expensive entrance fee to tour the castle, you can go to the chamber gardens for free. There you can also reach the front of Schönbrunn Palace, Neptune Fountain, Zoo... Very nice to look at and walk around. There are also benches here and there ☀️🫶😁
