Only a few buildings have survived from the castle in Tangermünde, which dates back to the 11th century. A building was built around 1700 where the main castle once stood, and is now a hotel.
The keep, built in the 14th century, is called the chapter tower because it once served as a granary for the Berlin cathedral chapter. It rises 50 meters and has six floors. Today it is used as an observation tower and offers a wide view of Tangermünde and the surrounding area.

The tower is part of the very charming old castle complex, where you can enjoy magnificent views from the rear, especially from the pulpit (the highest freely accessible point). It should therefore always be a destination when exploring Tangermünde!
