In 1905, the community of Nussdorf am Strudelbach built the pump house for its water supply. The necessary pumping power was generated by a water wheel. During the construction of the waterworks, the foundations of the outbuildings of a castle that had been located outside the town and was also said to have been owned by the Bombaste von Hohenheim for a while were discovered. With its four round corner towers, it formed a square 28 m long and 25 m wide. The entire complex was surrounded by a moat in which carp swam.
