The settlement Eden was founded in 1893 as the first vegetarian settlement in Germany to deliver vegetarian food to Berlin cuisines. With the life reform movement, the project and its products became well known in Germany. Several namesake figures in history such as Adolf Damaschke, Silvio Gesell or Winifred Wagner are linked to Eden.

In the center of the district are some cooperative buildings from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th Century preserved. Otherwise, it is a rather unspectacular housing estate with large gardens.
