The 110-year-old pirate ship Kookaburra (houseboat) had been moored for years in the Oude Kil, an inlet of the Scheldt in Sint-Amands. The houseboat sank on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
The water damage is very extensive.
In the meantime, crowdfunding has been started. "Everything they owned was on the boat. With the money raised, owner Winnetou hopes to be able to renovate the iconic houseboat.

The boat is still (somewhat battered) in its original place.
