Due to its proximity to the metropolis of Angers and the establishment of several businesses, Beaucouzé has experienced an enormous growth in its population. This rose from 638 inhabitants in 1962 to the current 5,528 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). In addition to three schools, the place is also home to an important industrial district.
Beaucouzé has maintained a close town partnership with Selb in Upper Franconia since 2000. There has been a friendship agreement between the two communities since 1997.
