Cycling through the nature of the Fichtelgebirge: The bridge cycle path between Bavaria and Bohemia between Fichtelberg and the city of Asch in the Czech Republic leads through the unmistakable landscape of the Fichtelgebirge. Without any major gradients, between Tröstau and Selb, family-friendly, on former railway tracks, there are over a dozen listed bridges, along many sights and numerous restaurants. The Fichtelgebirge nature area also has a lot to offer: on the bridge cycle path, botanical, geological and zoological features alternate. The former Holenbrunn - Leupoldsdorf and Holenbrunn - Selb railway lines form the heart of the Brückenradweg Bayern-Böhmen. The lines, which were commissioned before the First World War, enabled the settling of stone processing plants and porcelain factories, which gave the region economic prosperity. During the ride, the cyclists will witness these industrial cultural monuments. From Neuenreuth (north of Thiersheim), the twelve-kilometer alternative route "Brückenradweg Bayern-Böhmen connection" serves as a continuation of the D-Route 5 and EuroVelo 4 to the border crossing to Schirnding. From here, the EuroVelo 4 on Pomezi in the Czech Republic weiter.Ab the connection to the Fichtelnaab bike path at Fichtelberg the bike path through the forest to Tröstau is slightly gravel, then asphalted to the border crossing. The alternative route "connection", which bears the name "Ginkgo way", is partially asphalted.
