The Sint-Britiuskerk is the village church of the sub-municipality of Etikhove. The dedication to Saint Britius refers to the early Middle Ages when devotion to this saint was popular. The church has undergone a considerable number of renovations. In the facade above the baptismal chapel we find the year 1768. In the rear facade we see the year 1837 with the brick initials PVO, referring to the bricklayer Petrus Van Overmeire.
The church organ was built between 1776 and 1787 by Pieter Van Peteghem and son Lambert-Benoit, from the well-known organ building family. In 1974 the organ was protected, after which it was restored in 1981.
The colored stained glass windows from the period 1968-1974 are by art glass artist Michiel Leenknegt from Kwaremont.

At the entrance to the cemetery in Etikhove (around the church) are two bronze statues of soldiers from the First World War.

In 1116, a church building in Etikhove was first mentioned. The right of patronage was then granted to the Abbey of Liessies. A remnant of the former Romanesque church is still present in the west facade.
The west tower, in late Gothic style, is possibly 15th century. There was also a two-aisled church nave and a flat, enclosed choir.
In 1768 a southern aisle was added.

In 1838 the church was significantly modified and enlarged. The central nave was raised and extended in an easterly direction, making a new choir necessary. The elevation of the central nave gave the church a basilical appearance. The interior was transformed in a neoclassical style. In 1848 the works were completed and the church furniture was also adapted.

In 1897, the tower was restored in a neo-Gothic style according to a design by Alphonse Vossaert.
