The Lakes of Love were originally called "Štrbské rybníky". The founder of Štrbské Pleso - Jozef Szentiványi used them for trout fishing.
The lakes are supplied with fresh water by the mountain stream that flows past. You can enjoy the sound of the water on the small bridges over the stream. There are a few benches by the larger lake.
A very nice, quiet place, despite the nearby road.
