There is free admission to all collections despite temporary exhibitions. The collection rooms are arranged in a way that you follow through history (from the medievial period to ~ 1900). There is also an Nationalmuseum App that contains audio guides, facts and inspiration. Compared to most other mayor art museums in Europe, it is not as spectacular, but if one passes by it is worth a visit.
