The Korenbeurs of Groningen is located at the Vismarkt. The stock exchange was built between 1862 and 1865 to replace two smaller stock exchange buildings. The building with its striking neoclassical facade is in the Top 100 of the National Agency for the Preservation of Monuments. Today it houses a supermarket and a liquor store.

De Korenbeuers is in German no other than the Kornbörse. Built from 1862 to 1865, this building is one of the top 100 Dutch UNESCO monuments.

There is simply an Albert Heijn supermarket in this important building - which is, after all, one of the top 100 Dutch Unesco World Heritage sites. +++ Interesting to combine shopping with culture/sightseeing here, or at least to have the feeling, especially since the inside is also a magnificent historic market hall. Combining modernity with old and new, but it takes some getting used to, because a museum or an art gallery would certainly be more appropriate in such a prime location. Make up your own mind.
