The “Löwen-Apotheke” is the oldest pharmacy in the area and has been in family ownership since 1624.
On March 29, 1695, it was moved to Pfefferstrasse (now Rathausstrasse) into a house bought by Lüppo Hayen Popinga.
In 1873, Dr. Otto Wolckenhaar built an impressive new building at Brunnenstrasse 19, in which the pharmacy is still operated today.
