"Albringhausen station was a station in Albringhausen, a district of the Esborn district of Wetter (Ruhr) in the Ennepe-Ruhr district, on the Witten-Schwelm railway line. It was opened on May 15, 1934. It stood for passenger and freight traffic In the pre-war period, passenger trains stopped here twenty times a day, and express trains passed through.
Thanks to its secluded location, the Albringhausen station, which was then largely cordoned off, was also used as a quiet place to sleep for politicians and guests in stationary special government trains. Konrad Adenauer stayed here in the saloon car, as did Queen Elizabeth II of England, who traveled through Germany in a special train in May 1965.
Passenger traffic was stopped on November 30, 1979. The line was closed on January 1, 1983. There is now a restaurant in the station building..."
