Hiking

Because of the large number of water birds and the favorable conditions, this is an excellent observation place. One of the largest colonies of the black-necked grebe in Germany is located here. Important resting place for numerous species of ducks, seagulls, terns and red-necked grebes. In spring and autumn, thousands of bean geese and pale geese and up to 4,000 cranes rest here. Kingfisher, sea eagle and osprey can be seen regularly.
