The historic oak avenue, which the monks once used, is the beginning of a pilgrimage route around the former Cistercian monastery Lehnin, which is known as the "St. Bernard's Path" and commemorates Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and his spiritual legacy. Many people discover pilgrimage as an opportunity to pause and gain strength. The route, which has a 21-kilometer-long northern and a 14-kilometer-long southern part, is a recommended hiking experience even without a spiritual orientation.
