The Kornhaus in Ulm is a former granary from the Renaissance.
The Kornhaus in Ulm's old town was built in 1594 under the direction of master builder Caspar Schmid as a three-storey warehouse building with a high roof truss, which was also intended for storage purposes. Previously, there was already a smaller granary in the same place, which had been built in 1407 instead of a broken chapel.
The façade of the Renaissance building, which is decorated in sgraffito technique and looks like a stone arrangement, has wave gables on the west and east sides. On the south side there are two portals with elements of style transition from late Gothic to Renaissance.

In 1944, the interior of the building burned down completely. In 1961/62, the Kornhaus received a new interior design for use as a hall construction. The foyer on the ground floor is used for exhibitions o. Ä. The hall on the first floor has 540 seats, for example for concerts.
