Lake Laufbichel is located at an elevation of 2,012 meters. It is beautifully situated below the Grosser Daumen, and its water is crystal clear. Here, hikers coming from the Nebelhorn meet those coming from Hinterstein.

The Laufbichlsee is larger than the Koblatsee and smaller than the Engeratsgundsee. :-) It is the middle of the three mountain lakes on the route between the Höfatsblick station and the Giebelhaus.
