The Prince of Orange is a shore mill in Buren, Gelderland. It is a round stone mill that is used as a flour mill. The mill is located on the Molenwal and was built in 1716 as a replacement for an earlier standard mill on the same site.

Repair and restoration of the mill

A fire broke out in 1911, after which the Prince of Orange was restored and raised. The repair used parts from an old oil mill, called De Reus.

In 1947, the mill was purchased by the municipality of Buren with the aim of saving it from decay. The mill was externally restored in 1952, but only after a major restoration in 1974, during which a new grinding mechanism was installed, was it able to grind again.

The mill also has a small shop where you can buy your own ground flour, but also various other artisanal delicacies.
